With NinetyforChill.com evolving into more than the rough draft blog for my primary blog, MainEventoftheDead.com needs a new place to test out the formatting of recent blogs. "Main Event of the Dead" is my screenplay about pro-wrestling and zombies. I have a movie website, so may as well have a wrestling site.

They Live. We Podcast with Gregory Carl

August 16, 2022

We come to the conclusion of Cool Movies Darth and Gregory Carl's conversation about Roddy Piper's starring debut, "They Live". The two being pro-wrestling fans, means their conversation will inevitably focus on the wrestling business, but they go down some intriguing rabbit holes. Fresh off attending Fan Expo, CM Darth suggests the concept that Kevin Smith is the modern day John Carpenter. Gregory is a fan of "Tusk" and "Red State", so is this suggestion that ridiculous?

Allow me to get out of third-person. Happy Prof. Shurtleff of Illinois Central College? I (CM Darth) will try not to make so much light of violent death in this summation. This is my declaration of changing perspective.

The two of us pick up after my attempt to give the respect that Al Leong deserves. With that said, I think this actor just needs his own major studio distributed starring film. It maybe too late for that. Danny Trejo got "Machete" when he was in his sixties. Leong has just turned seventy. Do I have a bad ass Asian-lead action script in me?

This serves as a nice transition to some of the wrestling chatter that the host of "The Mud Show" and I partake in. I suggest a formula on how to integrate pro-wrestlers into motion pictures. After suggesting several wrestlers who can make the transition to cinema, Gregory suggests a remake of Sonny Chiba's classic "The Street Fighter". Sorry, Jon Moxley. The premise calls for Al Leong. Can this be Quentin Tarantino's 10th movie?

Another interesting concept that we discuss (It was teased on the Podbean feed.) is whether or not Kevin Smith is filling the void left by John Carpenter. I suggest that they have the same style of direction. Their biggest concern is protecting their stories. Gregory immediately refers to the awesome horror movies Smith has directed ("Tusk" and "Red State") and even pitches a dramatic sequel to the first film in the once promised True North Trilogy.

NinetyForChill: The #Podcast - Russhausen Presents the @C2E2 Experience

 NinetyForChill.com: The #Podcast

Episode 80: Russhausen Presents the @C2E2 Experience ("Star Wars" Panels, MCU Worship, and Nerds Know???).

Danhausen or Cosplayer

Cool Movies Darth has returned home from C2E2 with all of the festivities (that he attended [Sorry Cosplay Ball]) documented for you. Was it better than Fan Expo Chicago? Who did he come to see? Did he do much to promote the NinetyForChill: The #Podcast? Cosplay's premier "Captain N: The Gamemaster" may finally be getting the nerd recognition he deserves. Or is he still pumped from the Danhausen photo op?

Allow me to get out of third-person. Happy Prof. Shurtleff of Illinois Central College? I (CM Darth) will try not to make so much light of violent death in this summation. This is my declaration of changing perspective.

When you dedicate your spare time to creative efforts (podcasting, blogging, etc.), it can be tough to really...I mean really...enjoy yourself. I do not know if I have three to four day cons in me, but I did enjoy most of the weekend. It is just the little things like a hotel without snacks and Reed Pop having an app that was only intended to get my Facebook information. That is better than Fan Expo charging an extra hundred dollars to enjoy everything, but this is not the Meta nerds appreciate.

Since I was using valet parking, I did not unload all of my podcasting equipment. This lead me to document the first two days with the Podbean app. It works pretty well as long as there are no Apple iOS updates. Perhaps the ease of recording will inspire me to move on in creating a Patreon. What can I do for you that is worth five-dollars a month? Let me know at russthebus07@gmail.com.

The format of this podcast episode might be a little odd. I had released bonus episodes for day one and day two of the convention. These episodes will be available below. Because of this, this episode opens with me discussing day three and concluding the convention. If you listened to the bonus episodes, feel free to skip everything after Crowley's request for "a woo-hoo."

NinetyForChill: The #Podcast - You Listen. "They Live"...with Gregory Carl

Episode 79: You Listen. "They Live"...with Gregory Carl (We came here to chew bubble gum and podcast. Thankfully, we were all out of bubble gum.).

Did animals not notice how fleshy and flavorful the aliens looked?

You Listen. ”They Live” with Gregory Carl

August 2, 2022

It only felt fitting to spend SummerSlam Weekend covering a movie starring the greatest heel in professional wrestling history, Roddy Piper. Gregory Carl from "The Mud Show" returns to "NinetyForChill: The #Podcast" to provide all the praise to perhaps the best feature starring a wrestler, "John Carpenter's They Live". This is a film so awesome that Cool Movies Darth suggests that it may have encouraged WWE to go into the movie business and resulted in CM Darth deciding to buy it a third time for all the possible special features that only Shout/Scream Factory can offer.

Allow me to get out of third-person. Happy Prof. Shurtleff of Illinois Central College? I (CM Darth) will try not to make so much light of violent death in this summation. This is my declaration of changing perspective.

It seems that I will never get the scheduling for my podcast figured out. Because Gregory and I nearly chat about the movie for two hours (We were definitely bullshitting for more than that.), I felt it maybe wise to split the show into two parts. But C2E2 is this weekend, and of course I want to podcast about that convention.

Perhaps putting these episodes two weeks a part is a good idea. In other words, the numbers for my second part of "The Producers" were not what I hoped. If we listened to the first part of the recording, what is really going to change in the second? Well, I cannot promise me exposing all the sultry details of figuring out sex in "They Live" part two, but that is what you got last week.

Gregory and I are two retail employees who love pro-wrestling. This means we have a lot more in common with each other. Hence, these episodes should be more focused on the subject matter.

NinetyForChill: The #Podcast - "The Producers" (1967) & the Accompanying Explicit Nonsense

 NinetyForChill.com: The #Podcast

Episode 78: "The Producers" (1967) & The Accompanying Explicit Nonsense (Michael Dubois ought to be in psychology [on the listening side].).

Summertime for Classy Eva Chaplin

The Producers 1967 and Accompanying Explicit Nonsense

July 26, 2022

Michael Dubois and Cool Movies Darth pick up where they left off with their discussion inspired by Mel Brooks's debut feature, "The Producers". The conversation starts with  exploring Zero Mostel's portrayal of Max Bialystock and his pension for seducing pensioners to fund his films. This leads into CM Darth's salacious adulthood, satirical takes towards parents, and "Star Wars" fandom. It only seems appropriate to attach a review for "Jay and Silent Bob Reboot" to this podcast.

Allow me to get out of third-person. Happy Prof. Shurtleff of Illinois Central College? I (CM Darth) will try not to make so much light of violent death in this summation. This is my declaration of changing perspective.

I am big on squatting usernames/handles. This weekend I added @CoolMoviesDarth to my inventory of Twitter handles. The other five are @russthebus (I really should offer to sell that.), @MainEventZombie, @NinetyForChill, @CmDarth, and of course @catbusruss.

It seems that I was unaware of a default setting when I set up my latest account. When I started tagging people in my tweets, the immediate options included my aunt and uncle. One must go into their privacy settings to disassociate your contacts from being suggested as users to follow. This mean, use your email address instead of a phone number to start an account.

I bring this up because, despite I do not think I should feel shame in anything that I say on the podcast, there are people who may get offended who will panic, and tell people who will make my life tougher if they got this second hand. Not lose my job bad like the petty asshole Marissa Embry (Who I believe works at First Bank Tuscola), but familiar headaches and judgements. This episode divulges at least three stories that might trigger those feelings, especially since I just laugh them off.

After replaying the rest of the recording, it leaves me to wonder what I will have to talk about when I see my therapist later today. I like talking about myself, but I hate reruns (As I rewatch "Game of Thrones Season 4" in my peripheral.).

The Producers 1967 - A Guide to Punting Proud Boys

July 19, 2022

Michael Dubois returns to NinetyForChill: The #Podcast to continue their tribute to the late great Gene Wilder with 1967's "The Producers". It only seems fitting to revisit Mel Brook's motion picture debut in honor of his recent 96th birthday. This feature is Cool Movie Darth's favorite from the auteur, but Michael would have preferred Nathan Lane's presence. What the two do agree on: We need more mocking of the Far Right via cinema.

Allow me to get out of third-person. Happy Prof. Shurtleff of Illinois Central College? I (CM Darth) will try not to make so much light of violent death in this summation. This is my declaration of changing perspective.

So...I am not waiting till the last minute to get this post completed. What is another lost day off? "Pokémon Legends: Arceus" is in my library. There will be a day when it will finally be played.

To my credit, I have at least figured out how to make these blog posts relatively concise. There is a chance that I will be ably to enjoy the rest of this Sunday. Too bad it has to be cut short since my early shifts always seem to come the day following my scheduled days off.

Sleeping in is something my cats graciously allow me. The result is I responsibly only get 10 hours to fuck around. Do employers consider that some people like to stay up late and do stupid things with their time? Sorry that I have chose not to procreate. Somethings you do not have to out grow.

It is having late nights that allow me to find and truly appreciate classic cinema. This is especially true when you lived with a girl for the better part of four years who did not like Mel Brooks. You would think that Ally from Ally's Accessories Shop on Etsy would appreciate all of the musical numbers. Thankfully Michael Dubois does.

From Podcasts to Realizing There Are 75 Million American Napoleons

With this week's "NinetyForChill dot Com - The Podcast" lacking a theme, it seems that I let out a lot of my ideas that I would usually rant and rave about in the hour conversation with ThePoeticCritic. Putting that episode up left me feeling that I had pretty much addressed my issues with the "Morbidly Macabre" co-host Mitchell Whitt who took five minutes of his podcast saying I was out of line for sharing a link to the show on Facebook while also pointing out the shortcomings of the episodes for wrestling fans.

It was not that they got their info about the focus of the episode, Chris Benoit, wrong because they did not. Their beliefs on what the wrestling business was/is and how it operates were. Anyone who listens to wrestling podcasts would be rolling their eyes or yelling at their player for their misconceptions. In the end, saying that I was upset because they did not state the flavor of Benoit's essence is the primary host just being bitter.

Do Not Listen to @RosenbergRadio. Listen To the Internet's Premier CM.

*Blog post was started on April 13, 2020

WrestleMania 37:  Do Not Listen to @RosenbergRadio. Listen To the Internet's Premier CM.

Disgruntled's Real Championship Wrestling needs a wrestling blog, so I guess it was timely for this need to come during the week after WrestleMania. This means I might have to catch up on NJPW's Road to Wrestling Dontaku before I go to bed tonight. It will be mostly tag team affairs, but it should amuse me more than Night Two of The Show of Shows did.

If you complain about the failure of AEW's Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch, then you should be bitching about the entirety of the second night. Having shat the bed during my first dark match when I was training under Danny Daniels, I know that impressing the crowd to kick off a show is almost as important as the main event.

There maybe a bit of hyperbole there, but the lesson I gathered from this bout was that failing out there just made the entire sport look fake. That failure resulted in everyone else on the card needing to disprove what I had just executed. It is not as hard to win the crowd back when the audience is not just going to get up and leave after spending their cash, but in the age of television, if the first match pisses off the viewer, they can just change the channel. Xfinity is my cable TV provider. Thus, I did not pay for WrestleMania because Peacock Premium with Xfinity is included. There is a PlayStation 5 in my house, you know what that means.

Is this why Tucker Carlson has great ratings? Was part of the Fox deal for Smackdown ensuring that WWE would not cut into Fox News's prime-time of hate? Is Fox encouraging WWE to suck to get disenchanted viewers searching for simple, racist solutions to their life? At least I got a tweet for next Monday out of this blog post.

We were all hoping for "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt to return to form. The Undertaker has retired and it is obvious that we want another supernatural character. All you have to do is not book him into the title scenes, and it should work. Granted, you have to let him win those bouts for that to work. When the two guys running the company were the same guys doing it back when they created Taker who are notorious for not changing with the times, why do they think this is the one think they should try and reinvent the wheel with? Chat me up Bruce.

This bout was followed up by the Women's Tag Team Championship title defense which is the result of bad booking dating back to at least 2016. If you were not part of the Four Horse Women of Wrestling, being in the actual title pictures is an after thought. It is a shame because the crowd was behind the efforts of the match's grizzled veterans, and I think they would rather have seen them get a WrestleMania moment than to see the reign of powerhouses Vince McMahon does not understand continue to be the face of a fledgling division.

No person with taste likes Logan Paul, so he took away from the Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn bout. Without the strong indie show presence around Tampa this year, I think we could have saved the United States title change till Monday Night Raw. A Brogue Kick to the face of a moonsaulting opponent may have saved the show that WrestleTalk deemed a zero out of five.

Big E and Apollo Crews had a good bout, but it seemed like it was only to put over a new character instead of the new champion. If Big E does not get to run at the WWE Champion, he will be stuck further putting over a guy with limited range. AEW exists because we do not want to see the 80's and 90's WWF style. Dabba Kato better have a moonsault that floats or he will lead to many a channel being changed or simply overshadowing the talent in Crews.

If Rhea Ripley and Asuka had the same producer as Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks, I would feel like I was cheated if I was one of the participants. They had a fun match, but there was no sense of storytelling there. It should have been an indie slobberknocker, but you know WWE will not let that happen.

As for the Main Event, I think WrestleMania has a sour taste if a babyface or the most over guy does not leave the winner. WrestleMania 2000 with Triple H was disappointed as they made it about how evil the McMahons could be instead of the wrestlers. WrestleMania X-7 worked because we thought we were going to love heel Austin. WrestleMania 31 worked because we did not want to see Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar walk away as champion, so Seth Rollins was the best alternative. This was why WrestleMania 34 was a failure.

When it comes to WrestleMania 37, I know Reigns is the most over character, but he is a heel and this is the night where they are to get the comeuppance. The final pop would have been huge if either Edge or Bryan would have won and definitely be a greater reaction than what Reigns got. What makes this the wrong call. We now know we are going to have to just accept that it would be stupid for anything to change over the next year. Reigns is just going to destroy his challengers until someone gets over organically, except WWE will not allow anyone to get over organically.

After a successful first night of WrestleMania, many said that the groundwork for the future of WWE was being laid out. The second night showed us that the performers may be different, but the thought process is going to be the same. I said at the beginning of this blog that I should watch Wrestling Dontaku tonight. This means AEW has successfully gotten me to overlook NXT.

Why would I want to tease myself when you have the NHL (AEW) playing like the grittier AHL (NXT)? If you know the the guys will have to abandon the preferred style of play when they are at the top level, why support them? WrestleMania Sunday just showed me that tribalism is more important than ever for the wrestling business. We have to get further behind All Elite Wrestling in hopes it will make Vince McMahon want...no, need to one up his competitors.

No amount of schilling from Peter Rosenberg is going to fix this. Listen to Dave Meltzer and all will be well.

Current Disgruntled's Real Champions in Wrestling:

The 90th Disgruntled's Real World Heavyweight Champion:

AEW's World Champion Kenny Omega (2)

The 47th Disgruntled's Real World Women's Champion:

AEW's Hikaru Shida

The 148th Disgruntled's Real World Tag Team Champions:

AEW's Matt and Nick Jackson, "The Young Bucks" (3)

The 48th Disgruntled's Modern Poser Champion:

WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns (3)

The 152nd Disgruntled's OCHO Champion
(WWE US, IWGP US, Television, Intercontinental,
North American, X Division, TNT, National)

WWE United States Champion Sheamus (2)

Darby Allin has had only five title defenses in his 150-plus day range. If you are going to put your champion in a feud where the belt does not matter, does it really matter?

Apollo Crews's IC championship victory came via assistance while Sheamus and Riddle stole the undercard. Sheamus is also the more established champion.

When it comes to Ring of Honor, there just is not enough established talent to book the Television Championship well. Impact's X Division is too cruiserweight centric right now. The pandemic still hinders the NWA's National Championship scene.

Reviewing "The Craft" to Clear the Way for More Stuart Gordon

Reviewing "The Craft" To Clear the Way For More Stuart Gordon

*Blog post started on February 16, 2021.

Stuart Gordon delivers another Lovecraftian feature, this one seeming more HP than Gordon. The film again shows how Gordon can work around any shortcomings including the CG effects that are definitely not ILM. Mermaids with tentacles instead of fins and flayings make this a must see for any gore fans. Ezra Godden is a great proxy for Jeffrey Combs. If it lacks anything, it is a character in the vein of Barbara Crampton.

The podcast has now lead to a back up in my written blogs. It is more of a principle thing that upsets me. There is a sense that I am selling out the written work for clicks. But the pods are getting me twice the clicks.

If there is a problem with the podcast, it is that I am running out of themes really quick. I have stocked up on Sean Bean films from Disc Replay, but how often can I afford to add other actors' sub 100-minute filmographies?

...

An even better gift would be inquiries about my pro-wrestling, low-budget, zombie-comedy "Main Event of the Dead". I am more than happy to send out script treatments and would love suggestions on how to get this project at developmental hell. Send your advice or request to russthebus07@gmail.com.

As I finish typing out my plugs, I realize that I might just be writing this for the sake of practice. Do I have an actual subject to address? The answer is yes. Thanks for the edibles NuEra. This allowed me to skip (too stoned to record) the visceral review video, and create a need to write a review for what the girls at the bank think is a classic, "The Craft".

I think it might be nothing more than Breckin Meyer-sploitation. Did the producers think it could not be a hip chick flick if he was not playing a high school slacker?

90-Minute Redbox: "VFW" a Rutger Hauer Away from Grindhouse Perfection

Check out the review for "VFW" at "Ninety For Chill: A More Acceptable Runtimes

*Blog post started on November 17, 2020.

It is a bad time for this nation to be in a holding pattern. A part of me wishes Donald Trump would do something dramatic, like when H.W. Bush found a reason to bomb Iraq before 1992 ended. In other words, I finally gave into buying a microphone to podcast with. If there is not any drama, what is there to podcast about?

There are too many wrestling podcasts out there. An idea for one just came into my head as I pondered, "Are there too many movie podcasts out there?" Gods know that I do not want to give that away. Either direction, a host for each episode is kind of essential. Unless I wanted to try and become the liberal version of Alex Jones that is.

Is that what I should put down in my Tinder, Bumble, Coffee Meet Bagel, and OK Cupid profiles (Zoosk and Plenty of Fish have lost their usefulness.)? Single chonk male looking for podcast cohost.

I wish I had more to say. That is obvious since this blog post is discussing podcasting. It is tempting to let loose that wrestling idea. If I would have just overlooked trying to own my comedic screenplay about pro-wrestlers versus zombies, "Main Event of the Dead", maybe I would have that IMDb cred I crave. (If you have any suggestions on how to get this production out of development hell or would like a treatment of the screenplay, send an email to russthebus07@gmail.com). The details of the film could have gave my readers something to cheer on or even claim ownership of, like a local band before they break big.

Or maybe I just need a lawyer to go after "Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies". Too bad my pair back in Peoria are for bankruptcy and criminal defense. But I will say, you should research the Library of Congress for what screenplays have copyright protection before moving ahead with your project. Scripts revolving around your own personal wrestling experiences are unique. B-movie versus flicks, not so much. All I am saying is, "Tokyo Zombie" and "Land of the Dead's" zombie combat scenes made me happy that the government approved my script instead of calling me a thief.

What it comes down to is did the "Pro Wrestlers versus Zombies" start up before I got the copyright for my script and before I launched this blog. To his credit, director did Cody Knotts did get his Kickstarter going before the MainEventOfTheDead.com. Or at least I think he did. The oldest date listed on the page is 11 days behind my domain registration.

I guess my first podcast could be an oral history of "Main Event of the Dead" and the Fangoria-panned "Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies". Do not take my noting of a negative review as a personal attack Mr. Knotts. My bringing up the name of the most famous/infamous horror movie magazine is being used as a transition to the following movie review, The Fangoria co-production, "VFW", a more horrific and authentic story of old soldiers kicking ass.

Heidi Lovelace vs. Matt Cage 3--and a Podcast Pitch

I definitely need some feedback on this idea. Send it to russthebus07@gmail.com, @MainEventZombie, or just post a comment (I'm sure you have some kind of Google account). The idea is starting a wrestling podcast with an even nerdier take on pro-wrestling than the not quite "smart" enough (@RosenbergRadio is holding back @AKATheMaskedMan) "Cheap Heat" podcast. My goal would be to try to eventually get picked up by Nerdist (if you don't want me to bug you Hardwick, give me another chance at "Tag Team Thursday" [for alliteration, may be it should be "Tag Team Tuesday"] or stop seeming so accessible on the podcast), or maybe get in on the Grantland turf.

My nerdy gimmick to podcast is to perform a table read of a non-wrestling scene from my screenplay, going for the Cut Scene feel from the NES "Ninja Gaiden" series, after the first promotional break. I guess I'd be trying to top Colt Cabana's "Song of the Week" and trying to encourage more of his "65-year old Jewish Mother Recites a Classic Wrestling Promo" segments.

If Quentin Tarantino is still making "The Hateful Eight" after having a public table read of the script, my concept of broadcasting my story along side a more insightful view on wrestling might be the method to get "Main Event of the Dead" to a big screen. After saying that, I might need to throw in some N-Words to hedge my bet.

Talking about wrestling, I was able to work up the nerve to conquer my anxiety to maintain my commitment to checking out "All Hail," All American Wrestling's poorly named show last night in Berwyn, Illinois (Western Chicago Suburbs). It was a pretty solid card with only subtle things to complain about. So if you're not subscribing to the WWE Network to catch up on your NWA/WCW matches and get WWE Shop promo codes during the "Raw PreShow," save the rest of your money and check out AAW instead of going to a bar with overpriced drinks to view a Pay-Per-View centering around a desperate women's feud between a wannabe fitness model and a wannabe wrestler.

I know that Brie and Nikki have been improving as performers (maybe wrestling talent is a sexually transmitted disease), but I won't call the Bella Twin wrestlers after their alleged treatment of Maria Kanellis and looking like vacant socialites during AJ Lee's Pipebomb Shell. If they're serious about wrestling, they'd let the promo put over the need for improvement in their division instead of whining and doing a "We can't hear you dance."

Sometimes, probably most times, I hate points when there are logical segues. They seem to be there to prevent me from going on rants about the spinebuster replacing the DDT as a transition move or how indie guys really despise Jim Ross's opinions.

Perhaps Dragon Gate and Ring of Honor fans have no endurance, so after the first pop, their wad has been blown and they fail to realize that the bigger pop is suppose to be after the finish. In defense of the match between Shane Hollister, Ethan Page, and Johnny Gargano, where the commentators went on their anti- "Ross Report" tangent, I don't know how in a cruiser-weight/X-Division style match you can actually slow it down.

Perhaps this is why I need my own podcast. Conversations aren't linear, so you can get side tracked and not risk distracting the audience from the point. The need for babyface short cuts must be addressed at some point, but it wasn't in the AAW main event.

AAW Heritage Champion Heidi Lovelace
The segue that I decided to waste was about how Heidi Lovelace and Matt Cage demonstrated how, in Lovelace's words, "You don't need balls to be a champion." My only issue with this inter-gender match (a side from Ray Rice's suspension still being a hot topic [wrong night to where Baltimore Ravens colors]) was that I believe it was supposed to be the blow off the feud. My belief is based on this being the third match between the two in their feud. The way the trilogy ended may suggest that you need testicles for a successful conclusion.

The two had a great match, and Lovelace demonstrated that if we are to believe in Rey Mysterio as a three-time world heavyweight champion, we should believe that Sara del Rey, Cheerleader Melissa, MsChif and Paige (a generation from a Shimmer Championship) can become the World Wrestling Entertainment World Heavyweight Champion. My issue is that I wasn't satisfied with Lovelace winning with a roll up (it didn't seem impactful enough to be a crucifix bomb).

Paige should be the face of the WWE. Imagine the ratings that the female demographics would bring to a promotions that marks are claiming is in dire financial straits. If only I had a good "Money for Nothing" play on words to place here. The best thing about this concept is they ladies will have someone else to cheer for instead of John Cena.

Unless the two combatants are being booked for a fourth match, her championship victory is just a fluke. What reason are we to believe she can repeat this feat again? This could have just been the law of averages proving evident.

This match needed to end with Heidi Lovelace proving she was unquestionably the better combatant. It is like the end of "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" when Luke Skywalker freaks out and beats the hell out of Darth Vader. Luke was defeated once, is emotionally wrecked, but overcomes to be the last Jedi standing. This was repeated in the end of the prequel trilogy with Anakin vs Dooku, but who cared about little orphan Anni.

In Jean-Claude Van Damme films, the final fight (in my favorite films) are three act plays. He shows off his skills, the antagonist shows that he is craftier to virtually defeat our hero, Van Damme miraculously comes back and leaves no doubt that the villain cannot win.

My best feminine equivalent, that comes to immediate mind, is a low-budget film called "Fight Night (originally titled Rigged)" about a conniving manager and female fighter climbing the ranks of the underground prizefighting circuits. I don't want to spoil it, but it follows the formula I wanted to see used. If you want mainstream/nerdy, see the "Underworld" sequels.

In the match from August 15, Lovelace is beaten to a cinematic level of physical despair. She is always able to show that she is not finished, but it was constant heat. It may be considered realistic that her every comeback is thwarted by separation of the two opponents after her comeback. Cage's beating was so severe that she could never recover quicker than him, regardless of who scored the last move.

To conclude, this match was very realistic. Especially when indie fans start lending War Machine chants to Cage. I praise Cage for maintaining a heel role with the sickest chant I've heard at a show. For someone who never saw this pair face of, the finish to this match must be assumed as real as it could be.

But again, this was the end of a trilogy. A trilogy where a crowd is so into the action that they compare the heel to one of the most despicable men in the public light at this moment. I hated Cage in this match for what he was doing, and I wanted to see him broken. Not whining about the inconceivable, but broken, leaving the ring with a referee under his shoulder to support him.

Perhaps I should be further praising Matt Cage for his performance. Since pro-wrestling is dependent on having a good dance partner, Money could have made the protagonist look like a million bucks, but it was evident that Heidi Lovelace provided the best performance as a baby face who needed to tell a story that night.

It may just be the writer in me who just can't get over the story structure, but again I wasn't there for Cage/Lovelace 1 or 2. I just know this could have been the most dramatic trilogy I could have witnessed a part of if creative would have just followed the movies. Then again, if you watch WWE, that may just be considered the wrong approach since Vince has failed trying that at least 90% of the time.

Mark Dacascos the Booker: A Call for a Zombie-Themed Wrestling Podcast

I have recently thought about removing The Tennis Channel from my favorites list on my Comcast receiver. It is a sport I've never played with the exception of my first stint at Camp of Champs (an amateur wrestling/Christian camp ran by Olympic Champions Ben and John Peterson, if it is still in operations, send your kids there [tell the youngster to think of the religion as "philosophy"]), because our cabin needed someone to fake it. Fortunately, other sports weren't the proficiency of the campers, so we faked our way to third. If it wasn't for Nintendo, would I have a reason to respect the sport?

Why am I messing with the sport best known for douche bags (Agassi, McEnroe, Riggs, Waluigi)? Because they are preempting the sports talk TV shows that I listen to as podcasts at work. Does anyone have some cool, raw rock n' roll suggestions? If it is popular on any station that uses Rocks (as a verb) in its title, I won't give it my time.

Short on tunes and talking heads for my ear balls, I've been made to search for other podcast to listen to. So I got scared to find Nerdist has their guys for my field of expertise: wrestling wisdom. Then I listened to them.

https://www.qwertee.com
If you aren't confident that the concept of "Main Event of the Dead," my B-movie script about lower level indie wrestlers versus in-politically correct gimmicked zombies, doesn't translate into its original intended format, it may as part of a podcast. Please leave me some feedback to tell me otherwise or how to tweak it.

It would also be a podcast that acknowledges WWE does not necessarily (a stretch to use a term that lacks confidence) have the best wrestling. It will work better than any of the podcasts dedicated to the wrestling business presented by marks.

I'm not saying that only wrestlers can have wrestling podcast. The two I've come across are amusing for the most part, at least they were before the Bella Bitches (I'm just using alliteration) are dominating the majority of WWE's programming. "Legends House 2" beware of twin black magic.

Cheap Heat - Cheap Promotion.

"Cheap Heat" has gone out of their way to trash wrestling fans for not approving the angle. They claim, and base it on Jim Ross's philosophy (the best podcaster in regards to the business), that it's a great personal issue so it will put asses every 18 inches. Poor acting without great wrestling won't sell a pay-per-view. Both hosts watch "Total Divas" and Peter Rosenberg's livelihood is based on ridiculous, mostly fictitious, and sadly ironic real-life drama, so maybe he no longer knows any better.

I'm lead to theorize that Vince McMahon may have made the network to eventually avoid the big budgets for pay-per-view sets since the subscribers get so much content for...okay, because you need the WWE Network to be a happy wrestling fan...$9.99, they can't bitch about the Raw/Smackdown set being used an extra day a month? Also, it allows him to get away with his overly scripted product because fans of bad television will certainly like forced acting. The advertising revenue will be greater, just look at TNA Impact.

If you look at the ratings of pro wrestling, when compared to the Monday Night Wars (if you call it the "Attitude Era," that means you didn't watch the promotions not ran by McMahon [and you may have a future as a booker in Central Illinois]), it's evident that only true professional wrestling fans are watching wrestling. True fans or worse, only fans who Mark Madden suggests dedicated themselves solely to the product from the town of Jerry Springer's studio. The PG-Era has not increased the number, so this product isn't working to draw new fans, so let's not insult the majority of your audience.

And let's not insult your listeners so that the McMahons will respect you enough to let you be part of the company in an on air capacity. You're not a wrestler Heel Rosenberg. You're definitely not Bobby Heenan. Thus, we cannot get the satisfaction of seeing you get your ass kicked and/or stuffed into a animal costume and thrown into a Furious Furry Fuck Fest.

The WWE's chauvinistic agenda as channeled through Micheal Cole resulted me in not watching televised wrestling the from the conception of the NXT TV show (not the Network exclusive that has all its events available on Hulu) to the Pipe Bomb. And I'm thankful because it spared me Cole's Wrestlemania Moment.

Wrestling Compadres Slamcast - Nerdist Needs No Soundboard.

I thought I had to surrender my latest concept for promoting "Main Event of the Dead" when I discovered that The Nerdist Network has a wrestling podcast. After two episodes, I've determined that they may be able to support a second.

It isn't a bad podcast, but it feels like a morning radio show. Can wrestling fans stomach five days of wrestling? I suppose since Howard Stern has a station, fans cannot get enough of their bullshit. So, does anyone need "Java with Jedi" to get you AM ratings? If I can't direct, maybe I can host.

The "Wrestling Compadres Slamcast" is fun. They're interviews are entertaining, but not really enlightening which I think every nerd wants when they listen to a show dedicated to their fix. Their main device for amusement is to overplay the "best" soundbite. So if I didn't get enough Bella bull-bowel release, I get the clip I switched the channel from over 10 times. This week: "I wish you would have died with the womb," Nikki Bella.

Thanks for making us fear Chris Hardwick. What if he get the voice box that Duke Phillips tried to make Jay Sherman use to boost ratings. Would Matt Weiner appreciate any dialogue from "Madmen" or "The Sopranos" being repeated throughout his 90-minute interview? To Weiner's credit, his scripts are not ridiculous enough to supply such a soundbite.

This reminds me of the "Cheap Heat" issue they had discussed after their discussion about the authentic Bret Hart shades from Montreal 97 and why there should be no criticism of the diva disaster. They did discuss why the heel authority still do the corporate charity events. Since the First Family of Fake Fighting (it is a real sport, but the premise clears me using THE F WORD) participates, none of the evil shit that is spoken has any value. But at least Stephanie McMahon was raised to be involved in the business. Even if it is unbelievable, she has had practice to make you still want to hate her instead of wondering if "The Daily Show" could start a few minutes early.

The Bellas are models turned wrestlers. Models who like, the stereotype, were never intended to promote any thoughts. They were cursed because of the twin angle. That makes me think, did the Harris Brothers ever have a successful feud? Any attempt to make twins individuals will fail because the differences are forced. The twins cannot work as individuals because they were never meant to be individuals. And, until they needed drama on a TV show, they never got the chance to be nothing more than eye-candy. Sanitized eye-candy.

Diva's who cannot wrestle (or exploit their "natural" strengths) are the equivalent to fast food in commercials. They look great. Foodies may say they look beautiful. But there is a reason why Taste scores more points than Plate Setting and Originality on "Iron Chef." It's better to have a 15 point tasty, original meal than a 10 point original and pretty plate.

But you can't sell taste, so podcasters do not.

I'd like to give it a try. It's my nature. Everything I try, no one believe I can pull it off. Thus, my mental issues. Is it me for not being realistic, or it no one believes I can succeed unless they want me to.

Road House of the Dead: A Call for More Zombies and More Women in Wrestling

I am surprised by my state of mind going into this blog. There was so much real world stuff going on, it kept me out of my head. This is interesting because I have been in touch with my inner Ambrose (a bit of Bierce, a little bit Dean), having the feeling I am one of the few good people in a world of bad ones.

WWE should play on this and make Dean Ambrose an editorialist in the vein of Jim Cornette. This will make sure I keep watching "Raw" on Hulu. Advertise that it will run after the "Total Divas" match, and satisfy the bitter indie guys who want to see another job filled that the Louisville Slugger wants us to remember was his. If that is too much for Ambrose, there's always Colt Cabana. Okay, Scotty Goldman. Jim Cornette's pre-WWE stories are amusing enough, I do not want to bury him that much.

If fantasy booking makes sense, should it be fantasy? From "Main Event of the Dead: The Podcast," this may be the case, if you pull up my college transcripts. In my defense, the transcripts do make sense. I failed logic, hence I failed calculus, and in turn, failed data structures. If you're not going to give me any feedback on how to make "Main Event of the Dead Project" more than a screenplay about socially-insensitive zombies versus $20< wrestling talent, maybe you can offer me some leads on programming jobs that just need the software to work, not optimized. As long as there are companies still using Windows XP, this must be an actual programming standard.

After listening to Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier's "Road House" commentary track, I know that they could use a wrestling podcast. Because failing to mention Terry Funk until the finale, and suggest his career peaked at defeating Norman Smiley for the WCW Hardcore Championship is absurd. If the Nerdist has his wrestling nerd, Smodcast needs the ideal one, "Main Event of the Dead."

Do you not hate it when your hilarious tangents seem to trump the initial message? I curse seeing Jimmy Pardo last night in preventing me from going on about: How many Facebook friends do I still need to unfollow for their "I came from the middle class, so I'm better than you attitude?" Thank the gods they come from a town where all there is to do is drink, so they can't become CM Pop Punks. On the flip side, if they sober up they maybe able to see the plight of making less that $10.10 per hour. At least philosophy wise, I may have company until I pop the cap off a Strongbow. Winning never seems to be in the cards (why I play craps and roulette) but at least I keep my wrestling cred with my cider choice.

I shouldn't complain too much of how busy the "grown up" world makes me feel. When you seem to have had fun, why bitch about it? Because the girl you took out the previous night, whom you been chatting with daily is now giving you the silent treatment the following day--I mean the inevitability that, "Nobody loves me, nobody cares, and when I die, there won't be nobody there...Fuck the world I will deny you." Or complain about lesser wrestling fans with podcast.

Actually, all I can complain about the "Wrestling Compadres Slamcast" was there continual use of their sound board. They had some great guests, but it didn't feel like they talked much about commercial wrestling. Granted, this week sounded like aside from The Rock and Ambrose, their was not much that was missed.

I would like to note that I think the Russian flag stunt backlash maybe legit, or at least should be. Russian-Americans didn't care about desecration of the Soviet flag because they left the Russia that "advised" them to be Soviets. Now that their culture is restored and acting like the Republican Party, you cannot pee on a culture we may not understand...or want to obliterate (Randy the Ram and Hulk Hogan were cooler than Captain Insano anyhow). And I think WWE's reaction, no matter how much seriousness it lacks, may be legit since they cut the incident out from the Hulu broadcast of Raw.

Okay, you can call bullshit since I believe "Survivor Series 1997" was a work. As I learned from Danny Daniels, everything in wrestling is a lie, what hurts us, what we say, what we get paid.

Still. I think we only cheer on political incorrectness because it is a pain in the ass to care about people's legitimate sensitivities (political views aren't if my right wing readers wanna bitch about me). That is why we have stereotypes. I am hoping The Big Show gets the potatoes he was asking for. Or would Rusev and Lana call them beats?

As for "Cheap Heat," they, Peter Rosenberg, just seemed to want the put the podcast in the can. They did choose to address the concept of inter-gender wrestling, and said if it was someone with a Chyna like presence. Rosenberg also said that mascot wrestling was as good as Cruiserweight and Diva matches. And this guy claims to be catching up on the Monday Night Wars.

He may have meant it to insult the current WWE product. I'll have to refer to his media expertise if he is approaching the poor quality in that fashion, but to me it seems he doesn't understand storytelling when Daniel Bryan defeats three (what MMA would call) super heavyweight in one night. If your Divas can't compete with Paige, Natalia, and A.J. Lee, and you will not pull up the NXT girls, put them with guys who can showcase their talents.

Like All American Wrestling does.

AAW's Jawbreaker is Friday night in Berwyn, Illinois. It opens Shimmer Weekend, something that I think deserves a little more attention than Reality of Wrestling @WreslingBuds (unless the cost for coverage is losing Stevie Ray...and to RAW's credit they did a lot for Breast Cancer Awareness this month) because it is the premier showcase of what women can do. AAW will cover the inter-gender matches to make sure all of what women have to offer is represented.

Also, this is my last chance to post my review of their previous show Defining Moment.
