*Disclaimer*

With NinetyforChill.com evolving into more than the rough draft blog for my primary blog, MainEventoftheDead.com needs a new place to test out the formatting of recent blogs. "Main Event of the Dead" is my screenplay about pro-wrestling and zombies. I have a movie website, so may as well have a wrestling site.

The AWESOME Disgruntled's Real Secondary Champion: Part 6

*Blog post started on August 10, 2020.

Perhaps three post a week is too much. It is catching up to my output. On top of that, NinetyForChill.com (Should I go and sit on that Twitter handle?), officially has more blog posts than MainEventoftheDead.com, my primary blog that is meant to encourage assistance with the production of my zombie versus indie wrestler script (If you would like to see a treatment or offer ideas on how to get this project out of development hell, drop me an email at russthebus07@gmail.com).

This means that I will need to slowdown my viewing of "crappy" sub 138-minute flicks. I guess I have my anime expertise to fall back on and plenty of cartoons to watch, but change is hard. With anime being put out in season box sets, it will be easier to lose track of time. Nine to five (six) is my lifestyle now. Those all nighters would be ill-advised.

Things may slow down for me with my vacation next week. Checking out the old stomping grounds, my favorite bars included, should take up so much time, it will just be best to say, "Damn. Guess I will save those posts for next time." That will work, unless I throw in a fight with online trolls who suggest I leave the country, believe that the amendments after 10 did not change the Constitution, and/or are Islamophobic.

Trying to be a bit healthier before my doctor's appointment tomorrow has left me going to bed early opposed to snacking and watching TV. Meaning if I get into a Twitter beef, there goes an evening. It will all be worth it when they willfully silence themselves by blocking me.

There are better victories to be had I know, but having just returned from my appointment with a lot to work on, this fight might be the only thing to keep food from my mouth. A better solution would be to take my writing home. The "doctor" (PA) suggested journaling, but my thoughts for the most part deserve to be heard, hence blogged.

It can add to my frustration since I have to do my damnedest to creatively identify someone as an asshole (who is not an conservative troll) without dropping their name. With that said, I might just have to refer to myself only by gimmick last name so when I break big, no one will track down Ma and Pa Stevens to tell them what was said about them. All that can be said about the appointment is the PA noticing I am stressed the fuck out.

There is no time to be stressed right now. If I want to relax and be forgetful next week, we got to get these blogs in the archive. With only six years left, lets return to my current distraction, the Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Championship.

The 121st Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:(Intercontinental/United States/Philadelphia TV/Baltimore TV/X Division)

TNA X Division Champion SANADA (April 4, 2014 to July 10, 2014)
ROH slipped up when it came to booking Jay Lethal's second reign as TV champion. Lethal would eventually go on to win the World Championship. He would defend each title separately and subsequently lost the TV championship first. It leaves me feeling like the TV championship was just an afterthought.

SANADA would eventually lose the championship to Austin Aries who would surrender it to challenge for TNA's primary championship.

It is all a question of psychology I suppose. Can you build up a title only to let it slip and deem it unimportant when champion also holds a larger title? Or, do you distinguish that it is not equal to the world title but essential to becoming THE champion?

The 122nd Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
TNA X Division Champion Austin Aries (2) (7/10/14 to 7/24/14)

The 123rd Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
ROH Television Champion Jay Lethal (7/24/14 to 6/19/2015)
The IC and US titles were both recently won in Battle Royals. As per the norm, the X Division took a while to resettle in after a vacancy. As a result, we will have Jay Lethal's TV championship reign to count. For our purposes, it will end when he won the ROH World Championship.

The 124th Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
WWE United States Champion John Cena (6/19/15 to 8/23/15)
The guy set the standard on how to elevate a championship. He is a headliner who gave the mid-card a chance to look great. Those who took Cena on would soon be the talent base of WWE until the decade ended.

The 125th Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
WWE United States and World Champion Seth Rollins (8/23/15 to 9/20/15)
Unlike Jay Lethal, Rollins had to defend both championships in one night. Losing the United States Championship under those conditions did not hurt the title's importance.

The 126th Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
WWE Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens (9/20/15 to 12/13/15)
Kevin Owens was the man who got the most over from John Cena's United States title reign. Cena would go on to lose the title to a bad angle in Albert Del Rio and Zeb Coulter's Mex-America to take time off for injury. Kalisto was Del Rio's primary opponent and since he is not being treated by the bookers like Rey Mysterio, the US Championship was an after thought.

The 127th Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
WWE Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose (12/13/15 to 2/15/2016)

The 128th Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
ROH Television Champion Roderick Strong (2/15/16 to 2/19/16)
Ambrose would lose the title in a five-way match. Kevin Owen's reign would end in a ladder match at WrestleMania which saw Zack Ryder get his moment only to lose the title to the man who wins so WWE can out white out Chris Jericho's record.

Kalisto was on the WrestleMania preshow defending the United States Championship. Another luchador Tigre Uno had just completed his reign over the X Division which was restarting due to another cash in.

The 129th Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
ROH Television Champion Tomohiro Ishii (2/19/16 to 5/8/16)

The 130th Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz (2) (5/8/16 to 10/9/16)
The Miz's alliance with Ric Flair four-years prior made sense because he would be the face most associated with the title for the next two years.

The 131st Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler (2) (10/9/16 to 11/18/16)

The 132nd Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz (3) (11/18/16 to 1/3/2017)

The 133rd Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
WWE Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose (2) (1/3/17 to 6/4/17)

The 134th Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz (4) (6/4/17 to 11/20/17)

The 135th Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
WWE Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns (11/20/17 to 1/22/2018)

The 136th Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz (5) (1/22/18 to 4/8/18)

The 137th Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
ROH Television Champion Silas Young (4/8/18 to 6/16/18)
I think the Intercontinental Championship suffered because of the lack of a full-time primary champion (the Universal Championship was held by Brock Lesnar). It needed to be elevated to the main event which Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins failed to do.

The United States Championship left WrestleMania with a brief reign by Jinder Mahal, but was designed to insure fans would not clamor for a Hardy Boyz reunion.

The 138th Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
Impact X Division Champion Matt Sydal (6/16/18 to 7/22/18)
I guess this comes down to personal preference. Damien "Punisher Martinez" Priest was a work in progress making him ideal for NXT. The gloss of a Jeff Hardy reign had lost some luster. Brock Lesnar was still the Universal Champion.

Impact Grand Champion Matt Sydal would defeat Taiji Ishimori (currently the most fit and quickest of NJPW's Junior Heavyweights) to gain the X Division championship. He would soon go on to lose the title to Brian Cage who in turn would use the championship to challenge for Impact's prime title. It is the ideal use of a secondary championship.

The 139th Disgruntled's Real Five-Star Champion:
WWE United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura (7/22/18 to 12/25/18)
Brian Cage and Seth Rollins are not on Nakamura's level.

The 140th Disgruntled's Real Six-Pack Champion:
IWGP United States Champion Cody (2) (12/25/18 to 1/4/2019)
Should have I called this the "Six Fold" championship? Cody was the NWA World Champion when he won this title. This US Championship was lost after he dropped his NWA title, so it still meant it was important, but secondary to the other belt.

The WWE United States title scene was a mess of competitors and the Intercontinental Championship was trying to build Bobby Lashley which like past efforts, had not worked out. Jeff Cobb is the most athletically threatening champion, but his freelance preference makes him difficult to book with championships.

I have a year and a half to get through. It is tempting to just trek on with this blog entry and complete the list, but since we have 50 more champions than our primary history, my senses tell me their may be more than 20 champions to add to this lineage.

With the Wednesday Night Wars coming up, there is a chance that we get to add some new titles to successfully form a title as grand as the J Crown. That will at least make tourneys in "WWE 2K21" a lot more fun when it gets releas...

Here hoping having the tab with the NWA National Championship's history open for a month was not a waste of time. That will be more disappointing than a WWE belt on top as a conclusion.
