*Disclaimer*

With NinetyforChill.com evolving into more than the rough draft blog for my primary blog, MainEventoftheDead.com needs a new place to test out the formatting of recent blogs. "Main Event of the Dead" is my screenplay about pro-wrestling and zombies. I have a movie website, so may as well have a wrestling site.

There Was Never a McMahon WCW: The Disgruntled's Real Secondary Champion Part 3.

*This portion of the title history was completed on 7/21/20.
Intro was written on 7/28/20.

I did not expect to have so much time to write this week, but when you wake up with the alarm and a coworker comes back from lunch late, the time to catch up with Wrestletalk was not there. Thus, there are no dirt sheets that I want to wade through at work to justify finding a new channel to fill in my YouTube viewings.

What does my YouTube channel list look like right now?

  • All Elite Wrestling
  • Being the Elite
  • Dave Knows Wrestling
  • Outside Xbox
  • Outside Extra
  • Ozzy Man Reviews
  • What Culture Movies
  • What Culture Gaming
  • What Culture Wrestling
  • Watch Mojo
I end up watching a bit of MMA on Point, but the shots they take at wrestling will not allow me to  subscribe in good conscience.

There are definitely better things to do with my free time. I still have two episodes of "The Mandalorian" to watch. My TV on physical media collection is vast. After zoning out of New Japan World because of the delays it took getting English commentary, Puroresu is another thing I have been slacking on.

Mayhaps my new living arrangement is too comfy. Both kitties can now cuddle with me in the living room. The cats prevent me from playing video games because they like the dome chair I bought to do that in. With a twin bed in the living room, be it booze or pot, it is easy to relax. Which is good because if I stay up to late, the demons that I have been fighting all of my adult life want to have a group therapy session. I am not quite the "present day" William from "Westworld: Season 3" in that scenario.

Having too much trivial stuff to focus on is probably a good thing. The only problem is obviously not wanting to self medicate all the time. I will acknowledge. I should do more screenplay/teleplay work, but when you think about movies and wrestling all the time, do I want that to take up anymore of my time?

So the answer is writing partner. A different person with their own ideas that I can throw my wit at would be a huge help. If you need further inspiration to join up with me, feel free to ask for a treatment of "Main Event of the Dead", my indie pro-wrestlers versus zombie B-movie script. My email is russthebus07@gmail.com.

Now, lets get to the wrestling that I have written about recently.

The 43rd Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion (WWE Intercontinental/WWE United States/ECW Television):

On this date in WWF history (Mar. 7): Kurt Angle makes his television debut on 'Sunday Night HEAT'
On this date in WWF history (Mar. 7)

WWF Eurocontinental Champion Kurt Angle (3/4/2000 to 4/2/2000)

This is the most legitimate of the three champions who held both the WWF Intercontinental and WWF European Championships (D'Lo Brown who won his European Championship from Mideon and Intercontinental Championship from Jeff Jarrett to in turn lose both title to Jarrett who awarded the European title to Mark Henry like Shane McMahon awarded that title to Mideon). He lost each individual championship on the same night without being defeated, so in essence, there was a chance the European Championship could have become a secondary title.

The 44th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Chris Benoit (1) (4/2/00 to 5/2/00)
Chris Jericho was the man who won the European Championship at WrestleMania, but lost it the next night to Eddie Guerrero. To further place the Euro title as tertiary, Jericho went on to feud over the IC title after that.

The 45th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho (2) (5/2/00 to 5/8/00)
It was an unnecessary week reign, but not a silly one. Scott Steiner had recently won the US Championship after the infamous vacation of all WCW championships by Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo only to vacate it himself for a kayfabe reason the same night Russo screwed Hogan. Rhyno had finally obtained the ECW Television title, but if we look to the future, Benoit is the more highly regarded PERFORMER.

The 46th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Chris Benoit (2) (5/8/00 to 6/20/00)

The 47th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:

ECW Television Champion Rhyno (1) (6/20/00 to 9/8/00)

Things had gotten silly in the WWF as WCW was a mess with their attempt to rebuild their brand. WWF could afford to place the title on Rikishi, Val Venis, and Chyna.

The 48th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
ECW Television Kid Kash (9/8/00 to 9/21/00)
Eddie Guerrero would win the Intercontinental Championship from Chyna in a triple-threat match. It was a bout more about drama than wrestling. Kid Kash's win made a star. I would like to recognize the rise of Lance Storm, WCW Canadian Heavyweight Champion, since that was the best thing going for his career and that promotion, but he would soon be swapping that title with Misfits in Action members, one of the most Russo-ass angles.

The 49th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
ECW Television Champion Rhyno (2) (9/21/00 to 4/4/2001)
Rhyno would go on and successfully unify the TV title with ECW's World title. Unfortunately, this is the final reign for this title.

The 50th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Triple H (1) (4/4/01 to 4/12/01)
Booker T was the WCW World and United States Champion, but would not defend the US title after winning it. He eventually awarded Chris Kanyon the championship on July 24, 2001.

The 51st Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy (4/12/01 to 4/16/01)

The 52nd Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Triple H (2) (4/16/01 to 5/20/01)

The 53rd Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Kane (1) (5/20/01 to 6/26/01)

The 54th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Albert (6/26/01 to 7/23/01)

The 55th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Lance Storm (7/23/01 to 8/19/01)

The 56th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Edge (1) (8/19/01 to 9/23/01)

The 57th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Christian (9/23/01 to 10/21/01)

The 58th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Edge (2) (10/21/01 to 11/5/01)

The 59th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Test (11/5/01 - 11/18/01)
Kurt Angle was the WCW United States Champion who would lose that title to the next IC Champion who would unify the two titles less than a week later.

The 60th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental and WCW United States Champion Edge (3) (11/18/01 to 1/20/2002)
WCW United States Championship was retired.

The 61st Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion William Regal (1/20/2002 to 3/17/02)

The 62nd Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam (3/17/02 to 4/21/2002)

The 63rd Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWF/WWE Intercontinental Champion Eddie Guerreo (3) (4/21/02 to 5/27/02)

The 64th Distgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWE Intercontinental and European Champion Rob Van Dam (4) (5/27/02 to 7/29/02)
European Championship was retired. This would also be Van Dam's first double-singles championship.

The 65th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWE Intercontinental Champion Chris Benoit (3) (7/29/02 to 8/25/02)

The 66th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWE Intercontinental and Hardcore Champion Rob Van Dam (5) (8/25/02 to 9/16/02)
Van Dam would go on to unify and retire the Hardcore Championship

The 67th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWE Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho (3) (9/16/02 to 9/30/02)

The 68th Disgruntled's Real Triple-Crown Champion:
WWE Intercontinental Champion Kane (2) (9/30/02 to 10/20/02)

The 69th Disgruntled's Real Grand-Slam Champion:
NWA X Division Champion Syxx-Pac (10/20/02 to 10/23/02)
It does not feel right declaring the 69th champion to the man who starred in the Katie Vick angle, Triple H, who would retire the Intercontinental Championship when he unified it with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Syxx did not beat the champion for the title, but it was definitely featured higher than the NWA National Championship. The National title was also being held by Hotstuff Hernandez whose lost to Shinya Hashimoto was voided. The previous National Champion Kevin Northcutt was awarded the title.

So, we have introduced a new promotion and got through the horrendous time that was 2001. It is going to be interesting how many X Division champions we will have between late 2002 and the reinstatement of the US and IC belts. We can hope the X Division will make a lasting impression, but alas, Dixie Carter is waiting to shoot TNA in the foot. Here is to the fun until then.
